DEKALB COUNTY - AL -

After what DeKalb County's Sheriff Jimmy Harris says was an extensive investigation, a man has been arrested for drug trafficking.  Marcelo Pantoja-Villanuyeva, 33, was arrested at the residence on County Road 629 in the Painter Community.  Sheriff's officials report Villanuyeva was found to be in possession of a large amount of marijuana. Drug Task Force agents seized 24 pounds of packaged marijuana, pills, a .40 caliber pistol, and $2475.00 in cash after executing a search warrant at the residence.

Villanuyeva was transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center.  He is facing drug trafficking charges, as well as possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. The street value of the marijuana is approximately $50,000.00.

Sheriff Harris says "this investigation was the result of several citizens complaints and undercover agents following up on leads. This individual appears to be one of the major dealers in marijuana in DeKalb County. We are glad to get him off the street."
