A fatal police officer involved shooting early Monday morning in Childersburg is being investigated by the Talladega County District Attorney's Office and the Alabama Bureau of Investigation.
Rodrick Hamilton was shot in the chest by a Childersburg Police officer at a Kangaroo gas station on Hwy 280 around 12:30 AM Monday morning. He was flown to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The officer, whose name is not being released, will be placed on administrative leave.
