I-59 South wreck kills one - ABC 33/40 - Birmingham News, Weather, Sports

A man has died following a one-car wreck on the interstate. Birmingham Police Captain Henry Irby says the man's car left the road and overturned. The accident happened around 5:00 p.m. on I-59 Southbound, near the 4^th Avenue Exit.

As of now, the man's identity has not been released.

Birmingham Police and Fire are on the scene of a one-car accident on I-59 Southbound.

Birmingham Fire reports a vehicle left the interstate between the 4^th Avenue South Access and 1^st Avenue North exit around 5:00 p.m. Injuries, or how many people involved in the wreck are currently unknown.

No lanes are closed, and traffic is flowing in the area of the wreck.
