
Steven Thompson had two interceptions and two rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter to lead Carl Albert to a 24-8 win over Tulsa East Central in the Class 5A championship game Saturday night.
The Tulsa World reports that Thompson had a 3-yard touchdown run and a 2-yard score, both set up by his own interceptions, as the Titans iced the game in the fourth quarter. Carl Albert, based in Midwest City, scored the game's final 24 points after allowing a 1-yard touchdown run by Tre'von Cherry.
The Titans (9-5) won their first state championship since 2009 and their 11th in school history, finishing the season on an eight-game winning streak.
East Central (9-5) had won all of its games on the field this season but had to forfeit four games.
