Four-star inside linebacker Trey Johnson has decided to decommit from the Auburn Tigers following the firing of head coach Gene Chizik, according to ESPN recruiting reporter Kipp Adams.

Johnson, a 6'1, 215-pound recruit from Lawrenceville, Georgia (Central Gwinnet High School), has decided to reevaluate his options and will wait to see who Auburn hires before making his final decision.

"Trey is going to decommit from Auburn today," Johnson's high school coach Todd Wofford said. "Trey wants to be fair to himself and to the teams that he has interest in. He isn't going to address Auburn until they name a coach."

Johnson is rated the 96th best prospect in the country by ESPN, and holds offers from Southern California, Ohio State, Florida, Alabama and many others along with Auburn. He took an official visit to Columbus last weekend for the Buckeyes game against Michigan, and is expected to visit Florida on December 14 and USC on January 18.

On Sunday, four-star wide receiver prospect Ja'Quay Williams decommitted from Auburn for the same reason as Johnson. Texas A&M, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma State are all considered to be in the running to sign Williams, one of the top receivers in the 2012 class.

On a positive note for the Tigers, it appears that the departure of Chizik hasn't deterred the nation's No. 1 defensive tackle, Montravious Adams, from considering signing with Auburn.

"I still like Auburn, I don't look at Auburn any differently now," Adams told Justin Hokanson of AuburnSports.com. "I really like the school, the campus, and the program beyond just the coaches anyway. That's a plus because that isn't changing.

ESPN has Adams at No. 7 on their list of top prospects in the country.
