Montgomery, AL -

During the Thanksgiving holiday travel period, which started at 6:00 PM Nov. 21 and ended at midnight Sunday, November 25, Alabama State Troopers investigated six traffic fatalities, including the death of a motorcyclist.
These six fatalities occurred in Baldwin, Chilton, Conecuh, Etowah, Limestone and Mobile counties. Of the five fatalities where seat belts were available, three were not using them. Based on preliminary investigations, troopers say alcohol was not a factor in any of the deadly crashes.
During the same period in 2011, troopers investigated six of the state's nine traffic deaths.
