Homicide Victim Found in Car on I-65 North at University Blvd. Exit

BIRMINGHAM - AL -

The Birmingham Police Department reports that detectives are conducting a homicide investigation. The victim was discovered on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at approximately 11:00 p.m. The victim's identity will be released pending notification of immediate family members.

South Precinct officers were dispatched to I-65 North at the University Boulevard exit to investigate a report of an unconscious person in a car. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim unresponsive inside his vehicle that was resting against the concrete median. Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded and pronounced the victim deceased. Evidence located at the scene has prompted detective to investigate this case as a homicide.        

No arrests have been made in this case. If there is anyone who has information pertaining to the case, they are encouraged to contact the BPD Homicide Unit at 254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 254-7777.
