Keep Your Furry Friends Safe This Holiday Season By Avoiding These Foods

It's that time of the year again. You know, when you stuff yourself with all those delicious, Thanksgiving and Christmas foods. But are you being weary of what could harm those four-legged friends of yours?

From turkey to cranberry sauce all the way down to that warm pumpkin pie topped off with whip cream, just thinking of it gets you in the holiday mood. But while you may be enjoying these fine foods at your dinner table this season, your pets may also be wanting to join in on the festivities.

The Human Society recently sent out a list of foods you should avoid giving your pets as you dine on these foods. While you may or may not use them in your recipes this year, be aware that these are foods you should also keep away from them all year long.

So here's the list:

 Avocados

 Alcohol

 Chocolate

 Caffeine

 Grapes and Raisins

 Macadamia nuts

 Yeast dough

 Raw or undercooked meat

 Eggs

 Bones

 Xylitol (used in baked sweets)

 Onions

 Garlic

 Chives

 Milk

 Salt

This list applies to both dogs and cats. You can guarantee yourself a safe and fun holiday season for you and your furry friends if you avoid these foods.
