New city leaders in Anniston conduct first meeting

Anniston's new mayor and city council conducted its first meeting without a hitch and a call for teamwork.

A packed city council chamber listened to Mayor Vaughn Stewart promise "We won't embarrass you".

The previous city council was marred by arguments, a fist fight, arrests and resignations. The council unanimously appointed Sayram Selase as Vice-Mayor.

In January, the council will begin a series of community conversations in effort to prepare a plan for the city.
