Police Investigate Stolen Skeleton From BA Tomb

Posted: Updated:

Broken Arrow police detectives are dealing with an out-of-the-ordinary crime.

Investigators there say someone stole human remains from the Floral Haven Cemetery near 71st Street and 129th East Avenue.

Broken Arrow police corporal Leon Calhoun said cemetery workers noticed the crime scene Monday. An above-ground tomb had been opened and the skeletal remains inside were gone.

Officials said the body was entombed there more than 25 years ago. Investigators are trying to locate family members and they're hoping for tips from the public.

If you have any information about the incident call Crimestoppers at 918-596-COPS.

Cemetery management declined comment Tuesday out of respect for the family and police investigation.
