Missing Mayes County Drug Dog Found Dead

    The Etowah County Sheriff's Office says an inmate kitchen worker escaped the Etowah County Detention Center Friday morning. 

The Mayes County Sheriff's office reports they have found their missing drug dog, unfortunately he was found dead.

Max disappeared from his kennel Sunday in Strang, Oklahoma.

His handler says, the nine year old black lab did not have a history of running away.

So far there is no word on how the dog died. He had been with the sheriff's office for eight years.
