Seats are going fast on flights around the holidays. According to the Wall Street Journal, there has been a dramatic increase in sales for flights for the Christmas and New Year's holidays.
Sales for those flights are already up more than 50% from a year ago.
According to WSJ, one possible reason for the uptick in sales may be that there are more prime holiday travels days this year. There are at least 11 prime holiday travel days. There were only 9 last year.
The extra prime travel days make it easier for families to travel farther distances and stay at their destinations longer.
