Here is a list of FREE or discounted deals for veterans this Veteran's Day weekend. Be sure to check your specific locations for participating vendors. All participating vendors require proof of military activity.

Outback Steakhouse is honoring America's military veterans by offering active duty military and veterans a FREE Bloomin' Onion and a Coca-Cola product during the week leading up to Veteran's Day. Also receive 10% off your purchase from Nov. 13-Dec 31, 2012. Valid military identification is required.

There will be a FREE pre-game tailgate for veterans, troops and their families at the University of Alabama Saturday starting at 11:30 a.m. The tailgate is on the northwest corner of the Quad before the Tide's game against Texas A&M.

Applebee's will serve military veterans and current service members a FREE meal on Sunday, November 11. There will be 7 different meals to choose from. Valid military identification is required.

Chili's is offering one of seven FREE meals to all veterans on Sunday, November 11. Valid military identification is required.

The lady's at Hooters will serve all military personnel, active or retired, FREE meals on Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11th. You can choose from 10 wings - boneless or regular. A drink purchase is necessary. Valid military identification is required.

Krispy Kreme will serve a FREE doughnut to any active-duty or retired veterans. Valid military identification is required.

Participating Olive Garden Restaurants are offering all veterans and active military personnel a FREE entrée. Choice of 5 meals plus unlimited soup, salad and breadsticks will be served to anyone with a valid military identification card.

Red Lobster is offering a FREE appetizer to veterans on Sunday, November 11. Valid military identification is required.

Select SUBWAY® Restaurants will offer a FREE six inch sub or flatbread to military veterans on Veterans Day. This offer is valid only on November 11, 2012 at participating local SUBWAY® restaurants, Military ID or proof of service required.

Red Robin is offering a FREE Red's Tavern Double and Bottomless Steak Fries for all guests with a military I.D. or proof of service on Monday, November 12.

Stop into T.G.I. Friday's from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Monday, November 12 for your FREE Veterans Day lunch. Valid military identification is required.

California Pizza Kitchen is offering a FREE meal and one non-alcoholic beverage to veterans and active military on Sunday, November 11th and Monday, November 12th. Valid military identification is required.

On Monday, November 12, Denny's will host the Veterans Day Appreciation Event. All active and retired military veterans will be served all you can eat pancakes FREE from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m. Valid military identification is required.

The FREE 12th annual Golden Corral Military Appreciation dinner will be served to any person who has ever served in the United States Military. Golden Corral is offering the meal on Monday, November 12. Valid military identification is required.

In honor of Veterans Day, Little Caesars is honoring the men and women of the United States armed forces a FREE Crazy Bread® on November 12. Valid military identification is required.

    Police in Gadsden are trying to return hundreds of stolen items to their rightful owners. Captain Paul Cody said officers bust a large fencing operation this week. Joe Pearl, 75, is the suspect in the case. It took a long time to sort through and document a very wide range of stolen property. "We've collected a lot of stuff," Cody said. "Toilet paper. We have non-firearms related weapons, we have karaoke machines, musical instruments, car stereos, underwear."More >>

    Investigators in Gadsden said a man strangled his ex-girlfriend Tuesday evening before stabbing another man to death. Officers arrested 30-year-old William D'Angelo McKinney Wednesday night. He faces charges for murder and domestic violence with strangulation. Police said McKinney went to his ex-girlfriend's home in the Mill Village area and let himself in. Investigators said she asked him to leave, but he shoved her and then put her in a headlock until she blacked out.More >>
