Wednesday morning homicide victim identified

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation after a dead body was found by City of Birmingham Public Works employees Wednesday morning in Ensley. The body of 21 year old James Holmes was discovered at approximately 6:40 AM.

When responding officers form Birmingham's West Precinct arrived to the location in the 4800 block alley of Terrace R they observed the victim unresponsive lying on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded and pronounced the victim deceased.

No arrests have been made.
