New York, NY -
Major
airlines have started canceling flights in and out of the New York area ahead
of the threatening nor'easter. This
would be the second significant weather event to hit the area in just over a
week.
United is
suspending most services at noon Wednesday due to the forecast of a winter
storm in the region. Bad weather will likely cause more delays and
cancellations throughout the Northeast.
American
Airlines is halting flights to and from Philadelphia at noon and stopping flights
in New York at 3 o'clock Wednesday.
Delta
Air, JetBlue, and other airlines are asking passengers to reschedule their
Northeast flights. The usual change fees of up to $150, in most cases, are being
waved. Check with your airline for
prices and changes.
There
were about 24,000 flight cancellations because of Superstorm Sandy.
