AL Chief Justice Candidate Bob Vance expects victory

Vance's deputy campaign manager Sherri Ragsdale tells ABC 33/40 at 11:20 p.m. the race is still too close to call. In fact, Ragsdale says the team is still waiting for returns in five counties, but have heard reports of possible voting ballot issues in Hale County. Ragsdale would not give any details about the issue. The large portion of the watch party crowd has cleared. The remaining supporters are still awaiting a speech from Judge Vance.

Alabama Supreme Chief Justice Democratic Candidate Bob Vance tells ABC 33/40 he believes he'll win his race by a slim margin.

The former trial judge of Jefferson County and courtroom lawyer campaign is hosting an election night party Tuesday at the Aloft Hotel in Homewood.

The deputy campaign manager Sherri Ragsdale says Vance has been overcoming several challenges, including a late entry into the race and lack of name recognition. She says his opponent Judge Roy Moore is more widely known however he is considered divisive. She says Vance, on the other hand, will work along party lines to solve the state's court funding problems.
