Birmingham Homicide Investigation

The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation. The incident occurred Monday at approximately 12:20 a.m. The victim has been identified as: Jarvis Montrell Dudley, B/M, 33, of Birmingham, Alabama.

West Precinct officers were dispatched to Avenue U and 9th Street to investigate a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers observed the victim unresponsive inside a 2000 Mazda, 626 suffering from gunshot wounds. Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded and pronounced the victim deceased. Officers later determined that the shooting occurred at the intersection of Avenue W and 9th Street, and the victim managed to drive his vehicle to the area officers were dispatched.  

 No arrests have been made in this case. If there is anyone who has information pertaining to the case, they are encouraged to contact the B.P.D. Homicide Unit at 254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 254-7777.
