BIRMINGHAM - AL -

Birmingham Police will head back to school Monday. Seventeen officers will spend the day in the classroom at Bush Middle School to teach students about personal finance and the economic benefits of staying in school. More than 150 students are expected to benefit from the program called Junior Achievement Economics for Success. It is designed to provide information such as personal finance and skills, interests, and values to identify education and career goals using those skills.

Officer La'Quaylin Parhm says, "At the end of the day, we hope to increase their understanding; help them realize that organizations within our community rely on each other to be successful; and most importantly, increase their awareness that preparation for a brighter future starts now."
