Alabama singer/song writer suing "Call Me Maybe" singer

Posted: Updated:

Pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen is being sued for copyright infringement for her hit collaboration "Good Time" with the band Owl City.  The case was brought by Alabama singer Allyson Nichole Burnett against Jepsen, Owl City's Adam Young, and writers Matt Thiessen and Brian Lee.  Burnett claims that "Good Time" copies her 2010 song "Ah, It's a Love Song".

Carly Rae Jepsen's manager says that Jepsen is not one of the authors of the song and is not receiving benefits from writing the song. He says he believes Burnett will drop the lawsuit against Jepsen.

Also named in the suit are Universal Music Group, Songs Music Publishing, and Schoolboy Records.
