UAB hosting Presidential election viewing

Posted: Updated:
BIRMINGHAM - AL -

The nation is just days away from electing a new commander in chief.  At the University of Alabama at Birmingham, folks will be watching the numbers roll in on election night.  Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend a screening of the presidential election returns from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012.  The viewing will be held in the commons area of Blazer Hall.

Three jumbo screens will be set to major news networks.  UAB professors in the departments of Government and Communication Studies will be on hand to circulate among the crowd to give political commentary. The event is part of UAB Votes, a campus-wide collaboration of programming associated with the 2012 campaigns and elections.  For more information about UAB Votes, go to uab.edu/election.

There will be free pizza and drinks. The event is sponsored by the Vice Provost for Student and Faculty Success.
