Crime Stoppers November 3: What happened to Annie Sharpe?

Posted: Updated:

Saturday's Crime Stoppers case focuses on a recent homicide in Birmingham. Who killed a woman who was found dead inside her house? Crime Stoppers has cash for the right anonymous tip.

Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper has more.

"I'm Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper. This is one of our city's most recent homicides, and we need to find the killer before the case turns cold.

Saturday, October 6, 2012, 83-year-old Annie Sharpe was found dead inside her house. It's on the 4500 block of 12th Avenue Wylam in Birmingham. Firefighters were called to check on her. When they got inside her house, Sharpe was lying on the floor. She was dead.

We need to know what happened to her in her final hours and who's responsible for her death.

This is where you come in. What have you heard about that day? What can you tell us about Ms. Sharpe? No matter what you know, you can talk to Crime Stoppers. I promise you: Crime Stoppers keeps you anonymous.

In fact, we'll never take your name. When you call, Crime Stoppers will give you a private code number, and if your tip leads to an arrest, you can use that code number to claim a cash reward. Just dial 205-254-7777, and we'll do the rest.

Someone needs to speak up now. We owe it to Ms. Sharpe to check every lead and look into every possibility. You owe it to Ms. Sharpe to point us in the right direction.

With Crime Stoppers, I'm Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper."

TO PROVIDE A TIP ON THE CASE:
