Alabama dominant in 38-7 win over Mississippi State

Posted: Updated:

No. 1 Alabama took care of business at home against the formerly undefeated Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday night.

The Crimson Tide flexed its muscle against the No. 11 team in the country, and quarterback AJ McCarron continued his efficiency, throwing for 208 yards and two touchdowns in the game before leaving early in the second half with a sore shoulder.

Freshman running back T.J. Yeldon posted another solid performance, rushing for 84 yards on 10 carries and the game's first touchdown.

Bulldogs (7-1, 3-1) quarterback Tyler Russell entered the game as one of the more efficient quarterbacks in the country, but had trouble moving the ball against the top-ranked defense in the nation.  Russell completed only 50 percent of his passes, going 15-of-30 for 169 yards and an interception.

Alabama moves to 8-0, 5-0 on the year, and they will now turn their attention to the talented LSU Tigers.  They will travel to Baton Rouge for the SEC Western Division battle.
