Birmingham Civil Rights Institute receives $100K from BB&T

BIRMINGHAM - AL -

A huge donation is helping pave the way for the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute's 50th anniversary plans.

The $100,000 gift came from BB&T, and it will go towards education and outreach.

BCRI is planning a symposium, teacher workshops, exhibitions and other events to recognize the 1963 Birmingham civil rights campaign.
