MIDFIELD - AL -

Mantia Owens woke up this morning to a disturbing call from a family member. He found out his son-in-law was shot and killed at CC Nightclub on Bessemer road.  Owens identified him as 22-year-old Forenzo Walker.

"There is no reason for this guy, my son-in-law to get drugged out of his car and get beat and shot and somebody still shoot him and kill him dead," says Owens.

Police officers arrived to the scene after the manager called about a heated argument in the parking lot.

According to the press release, when officers arrived they noticed suspects firing handguns. One Birmingham police officer discharged his weapon during the shooting, no word on if the officer shot a suspect. Three were injured, but one victim, who Owens says is his son in law was pronounced dead on the scene

Family members say Walker, also known as "Woo Woo" didn't deserve to die. "He wasn't a bad guy, I respected that guy," says Owens.

Now, local "stop the violence" organizations are speaking out about ending crime.

Wanda Luckett with 'Mothers who want the violence to stop' says, "Everybody needs to get in check now, it's time out. It's time out now, enough is enough."

Valencia O'Neal with the same organization says, "It's too many people dying, come on, wake up."

The shooting is still under investigation and police have yet to make an arrest.

Owens says he and his family wants the shooter to surrender to authorities.

"Whoever did the killing man, they need to be brought to justice, whoever," says Owens.

A vigil will be held for the victim Monday, October 22 at 6 p.m. at the CC Nightclub parking lot.
