Auburn's nightmare of a season continued on Saturday in Nashville after falling to Vanderbilt 17-13.

Yet again, Auburn struggled in the second half offensively, scoring only three points.  For the game, the offense managed only 212 total yards against the Commodores -- 109 passing and 103 rushing.

Quarterback Clint Moseley was held to 98 yards through the air after completing 14-of-20 passes.

For the second week in a row, running back Tre Mason was the lone bright spot on offense as he rushed for 85 yards and scored his team's only touchdown.

Vanderbilt's Zach Stacy became the school's all-time leading rusher after gaining 169 yards on 27 carries with a touchdown.  He now has 2,670 yards for his career. Frank Mordica's 2,632 rushing yards was the previous school record.

One statistical category Gene Chizik and his staff will find positive is turnovers.   For the first time this season, the offense did not turn the ball over.  Also, the defense forced and recovered three fumbles.  Auburn started the day as the worst team in America in turnover margin with their 19 turnovers lost and only six gained.

Auburn is now 1-6 on the season and 0-5 in the SEC.  It was Chizik's seventh straight conference loss dating back to last year.  Next week, they will host Texas A&M (5-2, 2-2) and their sensational freshman quarterback, Johnny "Football" Manziel.
