Tuscaloosa Police Department Juvenile Division Investigators arrested five sex offenders within the last week.

Billy Ray Harris, 54, turned himself in on two warrants on Monday. The warrants were for failure to register and est. a residence by school/daycare. Juvenile investigators had obtained the warrants earlier in the year.

John Bradley Toney, 41, turned himself in on a warrant on Monday. The warrant was for failure to obtain DL or ID. Juvenile investigators obtained the warrant on him earlier in the week after he tried to register without having a DL or ID.

Jeremy David Smith, 41 years old, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop on him. Smith lives in Tuscaloosa County and during the stop it was discovered that he used some type of white tape to cover up the sex offender status on his DL. Juvenile investigators obtained a warrant on Smith for mutilated DL or ID. The warrant was served on him on October 11.

Dana Leon James, 29, was arrested after investigators discovered that James had been released from prison in 2011 on a Rape II conviction and had never registered as a sex offender. Investigators obtained two warrants on him for failure to register and est. a residence by a school/day care. The warrants were served on him on October 12.

David Edward Liles, 36, had registered as a sex offender using an address in the 4300 block of Stillman Blvd. Juvenile investigators discovered that he never lived at this address while doing a compliance check on him. A warrant was obtained for failure to register and was served on Tuesday.
