Presidential Debate: Who said more?

Posted: Updated:

There was a lot of talking during Tuesday night's presidential debate. But who said more? A CNN librarian dug through the transcript and counted every word from both candidates. That includes every "Ah" all the way to words said twice. She found that President Barack Obama spoke for three minutes and 14 seconds longer than Democratic Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney.  However, the former governor had a lot to say.

Romney uttered 7,984 words to the President's 7,506.  A similar thing happened at the first debate.  President Obama spoke five minutes longer, but Romney said 508 more words.

The candidates are hopeful their words swayed undecided voters.  With the election three weeks away, both men are campaigning hard.
