JEFFERSON COUNTY - AL -
It can be hard thinking about your own mortality.
But, whether you are a senior citizen, a new parents, or even the owner of a few possessions, having a will is an important part of life.
In Jefferson County, there are resources being offered to help people, who either don't have a will or are wanting to update theirs.
Cumberland School of Law is hosting a series of free "wills clinics", to help seniors 65 and older to do just that.
On Tuesday, students and graduates of Cumberland School of Law, as well as other volunteer attorneys from across Jefferson County, drafted wills for seniors at the Homewood Senior Center.
Leonora Fox, who updated her will on Tuesday says, "(People) need to have a will, because you never know what's going to happen to you, and you have to have a will."
The clinic also offers help drafting 'living wills', powers of attorney, and advanced directives.
If you missed Tuesday's clinic, there are two others coming up. One at the Gardendale Civic Center, on October 23. The other will be October 24 at the Fairfield Civic Center.
