HUEYTOWN - AL -
Hueytown police have imposed a week-long curfew leading up to Hueytown High School's homecoming game. City leaders say they want to reduce the number of potentially dangerous pranks.
Students often launch the pranks during the week before the homecoming game. Most of the pranks are harmless. However, Hueytown's police chief says homes have been spray-painted and cars set on fire. That's why the city decided to take action.
Mayor Delor Baumann says this is the eighth year the city has had the curfew. Fewer complaints have come in since the policy was enacted.
During the curfew, anyone under 18 must be inside from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
