The Birmingham Fire Department is battling a fire at 1504 17th St SW.
The fire started around 12:30. When crews arrived on the scene, flames were readily visible through the roof of the home.
One Birmingham firefighter was taken to UAB with minor injuries. No one was home at the time of the fire.
