Colony council fails to settle mayoral race

Posted: Updated:
COLONY - AL -

There's still no new mayor for Colony.  Monday night, the council met to try to break a deadlock from the October 9th runoff.  That's when both Donnis Leeth and Patrick Ward got 64 votes.  Councilors voted, and came out 3-3.  Leeth and Ward both serve on the council.

Council members will meet again Thursday night to take another vote.  If that doesn't settle the race, it may go to Governor Bentley.  If he does not make a decision, the city will have to hold another election.
