Here are some of the trending topics for October 15, 2012.

"Fearless Felix"

A history-making plunge to earth! He is not quite Superman, but by breaking the speed of sound, "Fearless Felix" Baumgartner secured his spot in history. Baumgartner landed on his feet in the New Mexico desert after his skydive from more than 24 miles up! He's the first skydiver to break the speed of sound. At one point in his free-fall he reached a maximum speed of 833.9 miles-per-hour. YouTube says a record eight million viewers watched the live stream of the skydive.

Bus Driver Assault

A lot of viewers have seen this next video too. A Cleveland bus driver was suspended after he was caught on video assaulting a female passenger. It shows a bus driver in Cleveland giving an unruly woman an "uppercut". The video went viral. The driver has been suspended. Police were called to the scene, but neither party would press charges. An investigation continues.

Giant Eyeball ID

On Friday, there were all sorts of stories about the giant eyeball that washed onto Pompano Beach, Florida. Scientists examined it and now say it is most likely from a Swordfish.  Genetic testing will be used to confirm it. Swordfish are commonly caught at this time of year in the Florida straits offshore of south Florida.

BCS Standings

A familiar site on the first BCS standings of the year. The SEC took both the first and second spots on the list. Alabama is followed by Florida. Oregon and Kansas State are not far behind.
The Crimson Tide in first was no surprise. Alabama is an overwhelming number one in both polls used in the BCS formula.
