The general election is less than a month away. Phones should start ringing soon with automated political ads. But there are new rules those callers have to abide by.
A new state law requires any automated or pre-recorded call to clearly state at the end that it's paid for and by what entity. If there is any misrepresentation or uncertainty about the origin of the message, the attorney general can take action against the violators.
