Birmingham Police make arrests in narcotics operation

The Birmingham Police Department reports that detectives have arrested and charged suspects in connection to a vice/narcotics operation.

On Thursday, officers executed a search warrant at the Marathon Service Station located at 6805 1st Avenue North where they arrested the store manager and cashier during the operation.

The manager is charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana first degree and the cashier is charged with Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Distribution of Tobacco (loose cigarettes).

Officers confiscated 175 packs of spice valued between $15.00 to $30.00 per package and a firearm.

Additional suspect information will be released upon completion of warrant procedures.
