Gadsden man arrested and charged with rape

A Gadsden man is in the Etowah County Jail charged with rape.

Gadsden Police say 52-year old Calvin Michael Sims raped an acquaintance at a residence in the Tidmore Bend Community. The alleged incident reportedly happened on Saturday, September 29th.

Sims is charged with one count of first degree rape, which is a felony. He's being held on a $25,000 bond.
