Tuscaloosa probate race heating up

Posted: Updated:

It's less than a month until the November general election, and a probate race in Tuscaloosa county is heating up. The long time Sheriff is trying to unseat the long time Probate Judge.

Incumbent Hardy McCullom and Sheriff Ted Sexton are each in their sixth terms. Whoever wins the probate seat in Tuscaloosa county automatically becomes chairperson of the county commission.

Sexton says he is running because he has taken the Sheriff's department as far as he can and he wants to introduce more technology to the community.

McCullom says his record of keeping the county financially sound speaks volumes.
