Thursday afternoon, the Jefferson County school district will step forward into its future.
The district's board of education is expected to select the system's new school superintendent. Dr. Phil Hammonds will retire in February.
Thursday's board meeting begins at 2p.m. and is open to the public.
The three remaining finalists for the job include: Dale Robbins, Associate Superintendent of Gwinnett County, Georgia schools, Dr. Karyle Green, Superintendent of schools in New Haven, Indiana, and Dr. Stephen Nowlin, Superintendent Lee County, Alabama schools.
