Avondale United Methodist Church will host a community-wide health fair Saturday, October 13th, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. This is a no-cost health screening for aging people and those of low income.
In addition to the health screenings, there will be health information booths, a healthy snack lunch and activities for children and adults.
Flu immunization shots, free diabetes screening, cholesterol evaluation, prescription medicines counseling, blood pressure check, hearing tests and free dental and oral health vision checks will be available at the health fair.
Additional health fairs will be held on November 10 and December 8. For more information, contact Avondale United Methodist Church, 500 40th Street, South, (205) 592-3739.
