Wow Steel City Pops is quite a story. A local worship leader changes his profession. He is now operating a popsicle business in Homewood.
For breast cancer awareness month he is offering pink grapefruit pink peppercorn pops. The proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society. But Jim Watkins and his wife's generosity doesn't stop there. For each bottle of water they sell... 100 percent of the profit goes to helping people build wells in Africa.
It is well worth checking out all the different flavors... There's a Chili Chocolate, bacon bourbon, strawberry and regular chocolate of course.... As I watched people of all ages order and try to pick a favorite... I could just imagine they were taking a step back... And remembering childhood. It is a happy place... Steel City Popsicles.
