NORTHPORT - AL -
Some people in the Huntington Place subdivision in Northport say they fear for their lives with a murder suspect out on Bond.
29 year old Christopher Dewayne Patton is accused of killing Kenneth McDaniel in July. Police believe Patton beat McDaniel with a pipe after luring him outside by cutting off the breaker to an air condition unit.
Since then, Patton has been jailed and bonded out twice. A judge determined that since Patton is charged with murder and not capital murder he's entitled to bond out.
Virginia Aday lives in the near by subdivision close to where Patton was arrested. She says, "I just said to myself this is has to be a mistake."
Annette Shuman says, "with him out and trying to target older people we have a lot of elderly people in this are and its just frightening."
Sheriff Ted Sexton says, Patton has a pattern of going on to people's property without their permission. According to court documents, Patton has told alleged victims he owns their property and had been run off the McDaniel's property before the alleged killing.
Patton remains on bond. No new courts dates have been set.
