One penny isn't a lot, but at least gas prices in the Birmingham area fell by that much last week.
Triple A's fuel gauge report shows the average in Alabama is $3.51 a gallon. That's 30 cents less than the national average.
In California, however, filling up is a nightmare! Gasoline there now averages $4.66 a gallon, and many areas are paying over $5 dollars. That is the highest in the nation.
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California) has called for a federal investigation into the pricing. She doesn't think the cost is related to supply and demand.
