For the Auburn Tigers and head coach Gene Chizik, the home game against Arkansas was supposed to be the catalyst to turning around a miserable start to the 2012 season. Instead, it was more misery as Arkansas won the game 24-7.
Once again, turnovers killed any chance the Tigers had at getting their second win of the year and first conference victory. Auburn had five today, three interceptions and two fumbles.
Backup quarterback Clint Mosely took over for Keihl Frazier in the second half, but threw two costly picks in his season debut. Mosely finished the day with 163 yards on 13-of-21 passing and one touchdown. Frazier was 9-of-14 passing for 118 yards and an interception in the first half.
Auburn found it difficult to run on the Razorbacks on Saturday, rushing for only 40 yards total for the game on 32 attempts.
Wide receiver Emory Blake had a great game statistically and was the lone bright spot in the loss, catching 11 passes for 130 yards and a touchdown.
Arkansas running back Dennis Johnson found room to run on Pat Dye Field and scored two touchdowns on the ground. He finished the day with 76 yards on 17 carries and was the game's leading rusher.
Hogs' quarterback Tyler Wilson wasn't spectacular, but he was efficient in his performance. He finished with 20 completions on 27 attempts for 217 yards. Wideout Cobi Hamilton led Arkansas in receiving with five catches for 72 yards.
