Some
familiar faces were recognized today for their hard work in the Magic City.
Birmingham
police officers, including Chief A.C. Roper were honored as the Top 30 Men
of Influence in Birmingham.
Chief Roper
says although the department is not where it needs to be just yet, it's made
some major progress, "It's an honor to nominated as a man of influence because
it doesn't just speak for me, it speaks for the entire Birmingham Police Department
organization and to all the other employees who go out every day trying to make
Birmingham a safer city" said Birmingham Police Chief A.C. Roper.
Other men
who were nominated include Cedrick Sparks with the division of youth services, Jay
Roberson with the Birmingham City Council, and Superintendant Dr. Craig Witherspoon.
