Credit card delinquencies down

Posted: Updated:

Credit card users are being more responsible about paying bills than we've seen in a decade. A report by the American Bankers Association finds delinquencies on credit cards dropped to their lowest level since 2001 earlier this year. Less than three percent of all bank card accounts were 30 days or more overdue.  The exact figure is 2.93%. That is down from the 15-year average of 3.91%.

The American Bankers Association says consumers are saving more and borrowing less while working to pay down debt.  However, it is not all good news.

Delinquencies on some other kinds of debt are on the rise.  The Association found personal loans, R-V loans, home equity loans and some auto loans were getting worse.
