A 14 year old boy accused in the hanging death of his 9 year old half-sister could be tried as an adult, pending a mental evaluation.

The District Attorney is waiting on results of mental tests before deciding whether to ask for the case to be moved from juvenile court.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested and charged with murder as a juvenile in May.

Investigators say the boy intentionally hanged 9 year old Katelynn Arnold. She was found hanging from a tree outside of her home near Ragland.

The suspect and Arnold were living with relatives at the time of her death.
