Clint Bowyer, the driver of the No. 15 5 Hour Energy Toyota Camry, rolls into Talladega having won back-to-back October races at the Superspeedway, and he is confident he can make it three in a row on Sunday.
"I'm going in there with the confidence of knowing I've won the last two, and I am a guy who needs a good run to get myself back in the championship," Bowyer told the Associated Press on Monday.
Considering Bowyer's past showings at Talladega, his optimism is justified.
His average finish in 10 races since 2007 is 10.3, and has finished outside the top-12 only once.
Bowyer is currently fourth in the Chase for the Cup standings, 25 points behind leader Brad Keselowski, and he'll need another strong finish on Sunday to have any chance of winning the championship.
