Thrive Survive and go pink!

BIRMINGHAM - AL -

How much pink do you have in your closet? October used to be the month I would reach for orange and brown. But now I size up my wardrobe for pink. When I see something that works... I nab it.

Recently Nations Outfitters offered a pink Leah dress. It is in honor of Lisa Ann Muir-Taylor's friend who is battling breast cancer.

It seems this month everything from buildings to cookies are going pink.

It is the greatest awareness campaign of all time.

Brighton is offering a breast cancer bracelet this month. During the month of October Brighton will donate 10 percent to the American Cancer Society through our Brenda Ladun Conquer Cancer Run. Brighton is no stranger to charity. Did you know if you buy a pink ribbon charm for 25 dollars you will get a 20 dollar check in the package that is written to the American Cancer Society?

Also, Monday I got a chance to speak at the DCH Breast Cancer Luncheon. There I visited with a lot of ladies. Almost all of them were wearing pink. We also learned life saving information....and the fact that soon... Those who have to have radiation treatment in the future might just have to endure one day instead of weeks of radiation therapy.

I hope all the pink you are seeing is giving you hope that we are moving forward... And making great strides... The fact is... More people who are diagnosed today with cancer do survive long term.

So go pink Alabama!!!! Spread the word, survive and thrive!
