Hayden man pleads guilty to shooting at airplane

HAYDEN - AL -

A Blount County man admits that he fired his shotgun at an airplane as it was trying to land.

Jason McKay of Hayden pleaded guilty Thursday on charges of attempting to interfere with the authorized operation of an airplane.  It happened when a restored world war two era biplane was landing at an air strip near his home.  Mckay says he fired several shots to scare the people flying the plane.

He has apparently filed numerous complaints about airplanes flying over his house, while landing at Campbell Field.  It's a private grass strip airport next to his home.

Mckay will be sentenced in January.
