State Representative John Rogers continued his outspoken support for Cooper Green Hospital during a rally on Thursday.
Rogers produced the 'Intent to Sell' letter which was included in a state senate bill that would have allowed the hospital to be sold to the healthcare authority. The bill died in the House Committee.
He called Jefferson County Commission President David Carrington "a devil" and claims that the hospital's pharmacy is closing and nurses are being laid off. Some employees interviewed said today was their last day on the job.
Rogers believes impatient services is next on the chopping block and wants the medical community to speak out against the proposed 'Spoke and Hub' plan, which he believes will not work.
