UAB head coach Garrick McGee wasn't able to pull off the upset at Ohio State today as the Blazers lost 29-15 in Columbus.

Playing in one of the largest, most intimidating enviroments in all of college football -- Ohio Stadium aka "The Horseshoe" -- McGee saw his team jump out to an early lead after Nick Adams returned a blocked punt 20 yards for a touchdown, but Urban Meyer's latest Heisman Trophy candidate, quarterback Braxton Miller, was too much to handle in the end.  Miller ran for 64 yards and two touchdowns in the win for Ohio State.

Despite the loss and falling to 0-3 on the year, the Blazers showed great improvement from their previous two losses and there are plenty of positives to take away from today.

UAB out-gained the Buckeyes in total yards of offense, first downs, third-down conversions and passing yards.  Also, sophomore kicker Ty Long made three field goals on four attempts, one being a 54-yarder in the first half.

The Blazers' two turnovers and nine penalties for 99 yards proved to be the difference in the game.
